Confirmado: João Almeida abandona Vuleta após testar positivo à Covid-19

A equipa da Emirates confirmou, este domingo, que o ciclista português João Almeida abandou a Vuleta depois de ter testado positivo à Covid-19 e apresentado sintomas que o fragilizaram. 

"O João manifestou não sentir-se bem durante a 8.ª etapa da Vuleta. Depois de um exame mais aprofundado e um teste PCR, ficou confirmado que tem Covid

João reported feeling unwell during stage 8 of La Vuelta. After further examination and undergoing a PCR test which confirmed a Covid 19 infection, the decision has been made to withdraw him from the race in the best interest of his, the team, and the peloton’s safety. He will now travel home for recovery.”
